On May 7-8, 2011, I will be in Cebu. And I will do the above plan. Anybody who wish to join me is very much welcome. Anybody who wants to do an itinerary like this in Moalboal Cebu, I would be very willing to join (given my availability). And ofcourse, if time permits, we can visit other tour spots around Cebu City and Moalboal. Just drop a note here and don’t forget to include your email address in the comment form.

I’m sorry dude but it seems that your plan is “suntok sa buwan.” Mas makakatipid ka kung “group” kayo, let’s say at least minimum of 5 persons.
I don’t think there’s a multicab from the airport. You can take a taxi going to the V-hire terminal.
The last time we went to Pescador Island (October 2010), we spent around Php3600 for the boat exclusive of the vest and snorkeling gadgets. Though it was unli hours naman. After Pescador we went to Basdaku Island.
I can suggest our place since walking distance lang siya sa Talisay beach (Basdiot Fish Sanctuary) and Panagsama beach. Just visit our fb page for more info.
hi chris,
thanks for the feedback.
the plan for this is really to gather groups or people to join this trip. the computation I made was based on 2 person have those budget in mind. i have been to moalboal once, and to cebu city many times, so my estimates would just be a plus or minus few pesos.
there is a multicab from the airport. please see my post in the same site here. although i am not updated anymore if they have removed it now. going by public transport have it pros and con. since this is only a 2-day weekend trip, i dont expect much baggages around. and going by public transport is feasible if you dont have big luggages.
please see my About page here…. this project is about making a trip in diy style and at the least possible cost. so this group wont be going into exclusive boat rent if we are at 2-5people only. joining a dive trip is the best option here. however if the group can be big, the an exclusive boat is an option.
after the trip, i will post my costings here. but i have done a moalboal trip before and i know the cost would not be far from my estimate.
i will check your place at Talisay Beach… i know it would be worth checking it out…. but my plan is to stay overnight at Panagsama Beach.
Hi Chris, Hindi sya suntok sa buwan. I am here now at Moalboal. From airport to panagsama beach, transport cost was 156pesos per person. Travel time was 30min airport to citilink, 30min waiting at citilink, 2.5hrs citilink to panagsama. Arrived Panagsama Beach at 9:30am. Travel challenge objective accomplished!
Hi!
We’re also goin to Cebu on June 19-22. No itinerary yet but we’d like to spend 2 nights on an island then 1 night in the city. We are 5 in the group(all adults) and its our first time in Cebu.
Hope you could help us plan our IT.
thanks!
hi tintin, you may follow the itinerary as i outlined it. but this tour focuses on moalboal and its environs. for this project i am joining this trip if possible. however, since june is near already, i would not be able to buy cheap air tickets. so i would just have to wait until some traveler plan to have a moalboal trip. there are many activities you can do in cebu. it would just depend on what your travel needs are.
Update on the costing:
As of May 2011
Mactan Airport to Panagsama Beach = 156 P/person
Lodging at Panagsama = P700/2person, ac room, no tv, free wifi, with towel and soap/shampoo.
Dive Boat = P200/person
Tricycle Hire Panagsama to White Beach = P300/tricycle (max 5person). Note: this is the overpriced cost, normally it would only be P150.
Tricycle Hire Panagsama to Kawasan Falls = P500/5person (overpriced)
Places to eat:
One Citilink have eateries and bakery
Moalboal town have eateries and bakery
Panagsama do have eateries but price is a bit higher.
Hi Owen! congratulations with accomplishing your Moalboal trip and do keep up your blog. I like the way you’ve itemized the transportation transfers.
thanks the chronic vacacionista.
I recommend to everyone not to take the v-hire from cebu citilink terminal. I had most aweful experiences with them. I had to wait for hours until the v-hire was full and we were ready to go. on the ride, i felt badly terrible because of the lack of kneespace, or any space at all. That van is made good for 10 people, but they try to fit in 19 people. 4 people per row? how is that possible? 1 person is even inbetween two seats and needs to keep their butt up in the air, the person on the right side, does not even have a real seat, but some kind of chair to sit on. I am missing a headrest, which can cause serious injury and whiplash. I believe that because the van is overcrowded that it might affect also the driving, since it’s too heavy. IN other forums I have also read that the drivers do not drive safely, and I must agree with them.
YOu are much better off with busses and other transportations
don’t take the vhire’s at citilink, they are not safe, and its really filthy place and i must say drivers just want your money. i suggest either take a bus or a taxi. but if you want to take a v-hire’s, there are v-hires from Caltex Service Station, in front of CSBT (Cebu South Bus Terminal), the place is much neat, and v-hires cleaner, the waiting area is even equipppted with aircon. give it a try. i find it also much more releaving, since my taxi fair to caltex station is less than when i go to citilink.
hi denver,
thanks for this info. i will sure try the v-hire terminal at CSBT when i go back to moalboal.
